Oktoberfest
I didn’t want to go. They said that because I am in Munich at Oktoberfest time it’s a crime not to go. I told them I woudn’t be drinking.Oktoberfest is very strange. Everybody dresses up in traditional German clothes (Dirndels for girls and overall things for boys). Then they go to a big show ground. In the show ground there are lots of rides and pretzels and gingerbread hearts with icing. There are also the beer gardens which are indoors and huge and stuffy and smoky and seriously overcrowded. Everybody says ‘Cheers’ and sings and sometimes dances (in the very small amount of space that there is) and a band plays traditional German music up on a platform that you can’t see. Sound like Mia’s scene? I got a taxi home early. What a party pooper!

Yeah so think about it like this… You order a litre of beer you sit with the Germans you sing anything everything and nothing along with the band you get repulsively drunk you dance alongside over crowded tables with people you dont know and you have political arguments with arms dealers. Seriously if she is trying to say it isnt cultural… When in Rome is all I can say…pffft.

Hi Mia
Barcelona - sounds wonderful - you did very well - avoiding the pick pockets - when John was there he lost everything while walking on the beach & spent 7 hours in the police station reporting the incident - so your talents at avoiding problems are exceptional - your nephew continues to grow at a rapid rate while you are travelling - & of course is beautiful & has the best smile & he now sleeps for up to 5 hours - well occasionally ?- he has discovered his vocal chords & really likes the high notes - I think he may become a baby Pavarotti soon -
Keep up the good work
Love
June
